The mood at Red Rooster on Wednesday morning was equal parts excitement and frenetic energy as the team got ready for the arrival of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden. Marcus’s nerves were no exception–the dry cleaner didn’t have his favorite shirt ready and it was pouring rain outside. Friday night brought out the culinary media’s best and brightest for the James Beard Foundation New Media Awards. Held at Gotham Hall, the crowd was a teaser to the A-list chefs in attendance at Monday’s James Beard Foundation Awards Gala. Martha Stewart sat at a table not far away from the likes of Andrew Zimmern (Congrats, AZ!), Thomas Keller, David Chang, Kevin Gillespie, Tom Douglas, and Hugh Acheson. Read More

Specialty and artisan foods have been available online for years and you can order your favorite savory or sweet imports and have them just in time for your dinner party Saturday night.
