Join Marcus Samuelsson and the Vy Higginsen’s Gospel for Teens Choir for a special weekly Gospel Brunch every Sunday at Ginny’s Supper Club downstairs from Red Rooster Harlem. Vy Higginsen’s Gospel for Teens Choir is a nationally recognized and award-winning ensemble comprised of young performers who were featured on “60 Minutes” in 2011. The choir emerged from Gospel for Teens, a program of Ms. Higginsen’s Mama Foundation and her School of Gospel, Jazz and R&B Arts.

The choir will perform three sets of rousing gospel tunes during Ginny’s Sunday buffet brunch served between 11am and 3:30pm. Brunch is $35 per person (half off for children under 12) and will include popular menu items like the Fried Yard Bird and Mac-and-Greens. Those with a sweet tooth can relish the dessert buffet that follows. Beverages, gratuity, and tax not included.

My experiences are my story—every hardship and hiccup, every achievement and accomplishment I’ve encountered along the way has brought me to this point. Every plate I put out at Red Rooster Harlem and Ginny’s Supper Club reflect the cities, people, kitchens, and spices I’ve come across throughout my journey, and now I share that with you.

Can’t make it to Gospel Brunch on Sunday? On May 27^th, Red Rooster introduces Bossa Nova Brunch Saturdays, which promise to keep the party going all weekend long. For this inaugural performance we’re hosting Pornoson, a 5-piece Latin band that brings the sounds of son, rhumba and salsa together with some funky grooves. Founded by Cuban composer, bassist and lead vocalist Danny Rojo, the band’s blend has been irresistible, touring the world over and selling more than 60,000 digital songs through iTunes. Pornoson has hit the airwaves from South America to Australia, but it’s at Red Rooster where they truly shine.
