Guest Chef Dinner at Coppa in Boston [SOLD OUT]

For the final July event of the book tour, Ken Oringer’s and Jamie Bissonnette’s restaurant Coppa will hold a guest chef dinner in honor of the memoir’s release on July 30. Dinner will begin at 7 p.m. While tickets are now sold out, depending on the weather, additional tickets may become available on the day of the event. After arriving in Atlanta for the Yes, Chef book tour, Marcus will meet and speak with the 100 kids who were selected for the city’s youth jobs program for the summer. Then, in connection with the City Hall book club, Marcus will lead a cooking demo later that afternoon.

Marcus’s first stop in New Orleans for the book tour will be at the Whole Foods Veterans Store (located at 3420 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, at the intersection of Severn Avenue and Veterans). There, he will sign copies of Yes Chef. If you’re in the area, be sure to stop by and say hello! You can bring your own copy of the book, or if you don’t have one yet, buy one at the store!

Reunited and It Feels So Good: Lunch with The Pass and Provisions [SOLD OUT]

This Thursday, Marcus will host a collaborative event with two former disciples and old friends, Terrence Gallivan and Seth Siegel-Gardner. Terrence and Seth, who both worked with Marcus at August, now head Pilot Light Restaurant Group and are currently working on their upcoming restaurant, The Pass and Provisions, to be located at 807 Taft in Houston. The three, who recently met up at the Austin Food & Wine Festival (see photo above), have put together a five course meal, which will be held at Culinaire (3900 Milam Street). The lunch costs $80/person and includes a signed copy of Yes, Chef.

After attending the James Beard Foundation’s Chefs & Champagne last summer, Marcus is looking forward to attending the annual event again in the Hamptons. This year, Chefs & Champagne will celebrate the Food Network show, Chopped; host Ted Allen won “Best Media Personality/Host” and the show won “Best Television Program, in Studio or Fixed Location.” Marcus’s fellow judges Maneet Chauhan, Scott Conant, Amanda Freitag, Alex Guarnaschelli, Marc Murphy, Aarón Sanchez, Chris Santos, and Geoffrey Zakarian will also attend. Marcus’s dish on the menu for the event will be white gazpacho with shishito peppers, fluke, and almonds. Tickets are still available!

Tomorrow on the Yes, Chef tour, Marcus will be having lunch at La Condesa, where a special menu inspired by the memoir will be served. This talked-about Austin restaurant was nominated by the James Beard Foundation for “Best New Restaurant” and is  known for putting a creative spin on Mexican favorites, like guacamole with watermelon, pomegranate molasses and queso fresco.
