Born in South Carolina and bred in New York, Georgia has been singing her whole life. She developed her skills as a jazz and pop vocalist, leading to her winning the legendary Amateur Night at the Apollo Talent show. As a professional vocalist, she has been cast as a vocalist in the Broadway hits “Eubie” and “Bubbling Brown Sugar.” Starring in “An Evening at the Cotton Club” as Bessie Smith, Georgia toured throughout Europe entertaining audiences with high-energy performances of jazz, blues and gospel tunes. Georgia, winner of the Blues Hall of Fame award, has performed with Dizzy Gillespie, George Benson, Fathead Newman, KoKo Taylor and Stanley Turrentine, and now she performs with our own this Sunday, May 27th at Ginny’s.
