Cabernet Sauvingnon and Vacherin Mont d’Or

Weekend Wine & Cheese Recommendation

Warm your soul this weekend with a glass of Cabernet Sauvingnon accompanied by melted Vacherin Mont d’Or.  This Swiss Alpine cheese comes in a spruce box that lends itself well to melting and enjoying like fondue.  Warm the cheese in it’s packaging and dip crackers or pieces of bread into the gooey interior.  The richness of the cheese neutralizes the tannins in the wine, which enhances the fruit in the wine.  Notes of pepper and nutmeg in an Old World Cabernet pair perfectly with the earthy and buttery cheese.
