Guest Chef Jonathan Waxman Cooks A Special Dinner At Red Rooster

Last night, we had a special guest chef and good friends of mine Jonathan Waxman joined us to prepare a special dinner at Red Rooster. It always a pleasure cooking alongside Jonathan, and yesterday was no exception as we joined forces to cook for WITS, Wellness in the Schools, a nonprofit that helps bring healthy eating into New York City’s public schools. Started by another great colleague, Chef Bill Telepan, WITS recently auctioned a dinner at Red Rooster prepared by Jonathan Waxman and me to raise money for the organization.

I was thrilled to partake in it and have Jonathan show off his skills at the Rooster kitchen. The prized dinner was prepared for Jimmy Nicholas and his guests and consisted of 8 courses including, Peanut Soup, Insalata di Mare, Foie Gras Terrine, JW’s Rib-Eye, and Red Rooster‘s Fried Yard Bird. The food was accepted with rave reviews and our special guests also stayed to enjoy our live house band, The Rakiem Walker Project, perform. It was great to have my friend and mentor Jonathan here and I look forward to having him back soon!
