If you’re a vegetarian out and about without food already packed from home, finding good vegetarian options for lunch or a snack might seem daunting. We’ve already touched on this subject for travelling vegetarians, but what about when you’re at work or running errands back at home?

When evaluating your options, always be sure to keep in mind that a well-rounded vegetarian meal has a protein, a whole-grain, and a vegetable.

Pizza — a tasty, molten version of this trifecta — is a good option if you’re in a rush as the cheese, crust, and toppings can easily fulfill the requirements. Many sandwich shops, even outside of New York, carry salads with DIY toppings that are another option as well as vegetarian soups. Check out this list of the 25 best pizza spots in the nation for one near you!

If you have time for a sit-down meal, cuisine-based food is yet another option. There are many fantastic Indian dishes starring vegetables, Chinese entrees with tofu instead of meat, and vegetarian lasagna available at Italian restaurants.

There’s no need to panic if there’s no time for you to transport your veggie-friendly options since there is plenty out there for you to choose from!
