Marcus Pop Food: Potlucks

Potlucks are making a comeback! That’s how I’m doing Thanksgiving this year.

I love asking my friends to contribute to dinner parties, not (only) because it means less shopping and work for me but because it adds an interesting element to the evening.

It offers a conversation piece, an ice breaker, by giving people a chance to chat about why they brought a certain dish or varietal to the table.

My hope is that I’ll get to taste something new, and learn a part of my friends’ backgrounds that I may not have known before.

You’d be surprised how much you learn about a person through food.

As I break bread with my loved ones and saying thanks, I’m excited to uncover the flavors that have helped make them the people they are today.
