Share Our Strength is Seeking Volunteers!

By mahir | July 13, 2011

I’m a huge supporter of Share Our Strength, a national non-profit organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger and providing children and their families with education about healthy eating. Their No Kid Hungry campaign has officially landed in New York City, and this Saturday, July 16, Share Our Strength seeks volunteers to help with a Outreach Day to raise awareness about their cause.

Share Our Strength hopes to gather 150 volunteers across Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx to distribute promotional materials like postcards, banners, and advertisements about where families can find free meals this summer as a part of the Summer Meals program.

To find more information about participating in Share Our Strength’s Outreach Day at New York Rescue Mission, visit their website or their Facebook event. You can also follow them on Twitter at their account @ShareStength and join the #NoKidHungry conversation.

I hope you consider volunteering for this amazing cause!
