It’s that time of year again, when every New York foodie prepares themselves for the ultimate food festival around- The New York Wine & Food Festival! Celebrating its fourth year this year, the event will take place September 29th to October 2nd and will truly be a celebration of delectable food and wonderful wines.

The festival is presented by Food Network and the Food & Wine Magazine and is hosted by The Food Bank for New York City and Share Our Strength Foundation. The best part about this festival is not just the endless information and tastings you’ll get to encounter over the weekend, but the fact that 100% of the net proceeds go directly to various causes. Last years’ festival raised over $1.2 million for various charities all in the hopes of closing the gap on hunger in America.

With over 120 events throughout New York City, there is bound to be an event that can please anyone. At the festival, there will be everything from sake to sushi, and Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc to delectable cheeses; no matter where you are in the City, you will find a savory event awaiting your arrival. Events range from wine seminars to food tastings, all while rubbing shoulders with your favorite celebrity chefs. Some amazing events include: the Fall-Friendly Desserts with Shea Gallante; In The Kitchen: Old School vs. New School presented by Bullfrog & Baum that showcases the evolving kitchen paradigm; Sake Soiree at Buddakan; Riedels’ Crystal Clear: Does the Glass Make a Difference?; and wine seminar and Sushi seminar with Toshio Tomiate and Mark Oldman. Red Rooster Harlem is also partaking in the festivities and hosting the kick-off dinner for the NY Wine & Food Festival, this Thursday night. Event tickets are already sold out but there are plenty of other great events you can still partake of. From book signings to cooking demonstrations, you can purchase your tickets for any event on the NY Wine & Food Festival website. Tickets range from complimentary admittance to $500, so if you’re on a tight budget with these hard economic times, then you may want to schedule your weekend around all the complimentary events that are happening at the festival.

The New York Wine & Food Festival as always will ‘wow’ foodies throughout the weekend, so get your tasting palettes and appetites ready, the festival is ready to coming your way!
