Arroz con Leche, or rice pudding as we know it, is a traditional Latin dessert that you’re likely to find in any bakery, restaurant, or even Latin home. It’s warm and creamy texture make it the perfect sweet treat during these cold winter nights.
Traditionally, arroz con leche is served warm and has a strong cinnamon flavor to it and more than not is full of raisins. But if you prefer a milder taste, feel free to only sprinkle cinnamon sparingly on your rice pudding and omit the raisins to fit your liking.
Here’s a quick and easy rice pudding recipe, perfect for a fast and warming dessert for this cold weekend ahead.
Easy Rice Pudding Recipe
Adapted from All Recipes
2 cups cooked white rice
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
1/2 cup white sugar
2/3 cup raisins
- Combine the rice, cinnamon, milk, and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir occasionally and bring mixture to a boil; cover and reduce heat to low.
- Add raisins and stir. Cook until thick and creamy, 5 to 7 minutes.
