Normally my five ingredient column features simplified recipes. Featuring whole foods, five ingredient recipes are great because they save you time, money, and are generally low-calorie. This smoothie is no different, but instead of paring down a recipe, I added a few ingredients to make this Banana Smoothie recipe more filling, and capable of keeping you full throughout the entire day. It gets a boost from Flaxseed Meal, which has Omega-3s and a healthy dose of fiber.
There’s no midday crash with this smoothie, and you won’t hear your stomach growling at 11 am. Tweak it as you will, with cinnamon, nutmeg, or a dash of vanilla. Flaxseed meal can be found at most grocery stores, I use Bob’s Red Mill. If you can only find whole flax seeds just blend a minute longer.

- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 heaping tbsp yogurt
- 2 tbsp flaxseed meal
- 1 tbsp honey
