Here we are with only three and a half weeks left in 2010 and it’s (nearly) below freezing outside! Usher in the season for a hot toddy with a twist (or two)!
I remember being introduced to this mythical drink shortly after moving from England to America in 2007 by my then boyfriend. Was there any merit to his “theory” that a specially concocted drink would help my achy and congested body heal? Then I remembered that in Eritrea a shot of cognac pretty much cures anything. So I had my first toddy that night in Brooklyn and I slept like a baby.
Here is a beautiful recipe for chai toddy. I choose chai because it is the perfect holiday tea! Sweet, spicy and delicious! Thank me later (wink).

Ingredients
- 6 oz spiced rum
- 2 tbsp peppermint schnapps
- 4 tbsp honey
- 16 oz hot chai tea
