If nothing else, Harlem is the place to be. Ginny’s Supper Club has been named as one of the Best Bars in Harlem by Time Out New York Magazine, and it’s also a Critics Choice pick. Located downstairs inside Red Rooster, Ginny’s Super Club is a modern reincarnation of the beloved speakeasies that Harlem is so famously known for.

The drink menu offers up a variety of signatures and classics such as the Rooster Colada and the Harlem Mule. Wine by the glass and a variety of beers are also available on the menu, along with a fully constructed menu and live entertainment. Don’t miss the incredible Ethiopian rock group Jano Band when they perform this Wednesday, August 28th. Get tickets here.

With the juice trend sky rocketing, it was only a matter of time before green juice found its way into our cocktails.  But honestly what could be better than combining your after work wind down with a refreshing companion that’s actually good for you. There is something about the mix of the two that seems just the right amount of wrong. It could be that it makes you feel less guilty to have that second cocktail. It could be the contrast of healthy vs. vice. It could even be that they cancel each other out. We’re not exactly sure and yet that’s precisely why it is the perfect union. Read More

From facial remedies to cooking, tea has become an integral part of adding value to a product. Whether it be for health, fragrance, or flavor, and cocktails are no exception. All across the U.S. restaurants, bars and their mixologists are finding tea as a way of expanding their drink making capabilities. Stella Rossa Pizza Bar in Santa Monica, California is making their version of a Pisco sour with white tea-infused egg foam. And in Chicago, Mercadito is revving up their margaritas with blanco tequila infused with black tea, mezcal, pear purée, fresh lime juice and agave nectar.  And with tea blends like Marcus’ Ambessa tea line, the possibilities are endless. F. Scott Fitzgerald had an incredible way of describing a party that, let’s face it, just about anybody would want to be invited. The imagery of “buffet tables, garnished with glistening hors d’oeuvres, spiced baked hams crowded against salads of harlequin designs, and pastry pigs and turkeys bewitched to a dark gold..a bar with a real brass rail,  stocked with gins and liquors and with cordials so long forgotten that most of his female guests were too young to know one from another.” Read More

Sweet Chick’s Cocktails Make a Classy Splash

By Diana Tsuchida | April 9, 2013

Sweet Chick

Sweet Chick
Sweet Chick, the hip new comfort food joint in Williamsburg is moving far beyond their reputation of bacon and cheddar waffles and Old Timey picnic tables salvaged from Bed-Stuy. The cocktail experience at Sweet Chick fully stands on its own, or at the very least, has gotten people to talk about the menu which is full of droll names like the “Tiger Woods Y’all” and “Purple Drank.” But bar manager Cinthia Rooney’s concoctions pack a serious punch balanced with the right finesse. That is precisely why its about time to pump up our spirits with a little homemade sunshine, and coax spring out of hiding. So take a deep breath, and take time to sip these flowery cocktails. Read More
