On February 3rd, the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers are kicking off just in time for dinner, at 6:30pm. The only questions bigger than “Which Bay are you backing?” is “Where are we watching it?” or “What are we cooking?” We’ve got sibling coaches manning opposing, bay city teams from two coasts, neither of which has ever lost a Super Bowl game. Original Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis plays his final game, the 49ers are the designated home team, and it’s going down in Louisiana. Read More

Arturo O’Farrill and his Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra takes over Ginny’s on Tuesday, June 19th, and Food Republic writer (and Cubaphile) Judy Cantor-Navas took some time to meet the man whose talent stretches far beyond music. The son of legendary composer and bandleader Chico O’Farrill, Arturo grew up dining with the likes of Dizzy Gillespie, Count Basie and Jon Hendricks in his home. Before heading up to Ginny’s to hear him premiere his newest suite, The Offense of the Drum, read what this Grammy award-winning musician has to say about making a mess in the kitchen. Behind the Scenes with Vogue Magazine

By Jeannette Park | May 24, 2012

Marcus and Maya

If you haven’t caught the June issue of VOGUE magazine featuring Maya and Marcus and an excerpt from Yes, Chef, here’s a look at some behind-the-scenes shots from that day. We had an early call for the photo shoot that morning–Vogue editors and interns nibbled on coffee and croissants while Marcus and Maya sifted through racks of Louis Vuitton, Hugo Boss, Gucci, and too many designers to count. After some quick changes in the private dining room at Ginny’s, Marcus settled for Acne (one of his favorite Swedish brands) and Paul Smith while Maya looked stunning in a Suno shirt and Duro Olowu pants. The main dining room at Rooster substituted for a makeup studio while Tim Rogers made sure hair was to perfection. Read More
