Halloween is one of our favorite events over at the Roo and Ginny’s Supper Club, and this year we have events for everyone.

For those with children, join us at “Boo at the Roo,” a fun day of games, prizes, a maze, and of course candy at Red Rooster.

Once the kids are tucked away, the freaks come out to play! At night, we have three fun events, which we hope to see you at. At 7:30pm, we have an extra spooky supper club at Ginny’s. ELEW will be performing live while we show a silent horror film in the background. At 9:30, we will transition Ginny’s into our Freaks Come Out at Night Halloween Party with headliners DJ Evil Dee & Mr. Walt of Da Beatminerz. Both events are $15 and tickets can be bought here. We’ll also be having a costume contest with great prizes.

If you prefer old school hip hop, you can head upstairs to Red Rooster for DJ Kool Herc’s Hip Hop Halloween. Entry is free, and we’ll be there dancing the night away until close.

We hope to see you there!

If you ever think you know what’s going to happen at a Halloween party, you’ve never been to a Halloween party at Ginny’s. For our Third Annual Ginny’s Halloween Party, our favorite guests and ghouls went all out to showcase some of the most unusual costumes that were entered into the Best Costume contest. True to trends, there were a couple of Miley’s, two throwback Avatars, a too-close-to-the-real-thing Frank “Ponch” Poncherello, a post-enhanced Alex Rodriguez, an excellent Dorothy and Wicked Witch of the West, and an ever angelic Angel. And that was just at the front door.  Read More

Red Rooster’s Halloween Party

By admin | November 3, 2011

On Monday, Red Rooster Harlem did it again and threw a killer Halloween Party. Hosted by Remy Martin, Red Rooster’s Halloween Bash featured sinful hors d’oeuvres and delectable cocktails made with their new spirit, Remy V. Guests were asked to dress to impress in their costume best, which was certainly followed as everyone who walked through Red Rooster’s door that night let their creativity show through their very elaborate attires. The house band and an added DJ rocked the house with classic dance beats and Harlem-inspired tunes. Red Rooster was definitely rocked that night and we can only hope next year’s Halloween Bash can top this one!

Food and People Halloween Special – New Orleans with Lisa McLaughlin

By mahir | October 28, 2010

This week’s photos of Food & People is by Lisa Mclaughlin. Below is what Lisa has to say about the photos and her experience of New Orleans during halloween.

Last Halloween found me attending a government conference in New Orleans. It was one of those all too rare conferences that is actually interesting and informative and filled with fascinating folks from around the world, punctuated with lunch breaks for spicy gumbo and olive-spiked muffalettas at Napoleon House and bittersweet coffee and beignets at Cafe du Monde. But the only thing many of us could think about Read More
