John Legend at Ginny's

Recently, the R&B superstar John Legend made a surprise visit to Ginny’s Supper Club to share an up-close performance with a packed room of spellbound New Yorkers. Legend amazed the audience with some of his favorites like “Again”, and cheaked in some of his new, upcoming material, including the popular, “Made to Love”. In a pre-performance interview, he shared thoughtful details of his personal life, his creative process and his deep sense of pride in producing a catalogue of music that many consider instant classics. He started the day by strolling through Harlem and visiting a few of his favorite local places, including the Harlem’s Children’s Zone, which he is a huge supporter of. The night was quintessential Ginny’s–intimate, packed with incredible talent and an unforgettable experience.

So I was happy when he joined me for lunch at AUGUST. We met about five years ago through his good friend Robert. John is a real musician, it’s great to see him perform live because when he sits down to play the piano – his pure voice along with the piano can fill the entire arena and make you feel like you have been taken on a musical journey.
