On May 27th, I'll be opening my new restaurant, Marcus', in Bermuda.

Last week, I officially announced that my latest restaurant, Marcus’, will open on May 27th in Bermuda. The announcement was made in an exclusive with Travel + Leisure.

Marcus’ will focus Caribbean-inspired cuisine. The space is inside the newly renovated Bermuda Fairmont Hamilton Princess, and should be pretty spectacular against the island’s natural beauty.  Bermuda is one of my favorite places to visit – I’ve fallen in love with people and the culture there – so I’m really excited about this project.

To celebrate the opening of Marcus’, the Hamilton Princess is offering three special travel packages. All three packages include a two night stay at the Bermuda hotel, a five course meal with beverage pairings at the restaurant, and a signed copy of my latest book, Marcus Off Duty: The Recipes I Cook at Home, plus some other fun perks. You can find out more about these deals here on their website in the Food and Wine section.

This spring, I’ll be releasing a new book - Make it Messy: My Perfectly Imperfect Life. The book is based on my memoir Yes, Chef! and geared towards young adults. By sharing the story of my journey through life and the food world, I hope to empower young people to embrace their mistakes and to follow their dreams, no matter what their aspirations are.

Make it Messy is the result of a lot of work by my team and the team over at Random House, as well as my friend Veronica Chambers. So far, the reception has been great; I can’t wait to see it hit stands! Make It Messy goes on sale on June 9th, but you can pre-order your copy on Amazon now.

Self-described as “One part Southern soul, one part Asian spice, and one part New York attitude,” Chef Edward Lee moved to Louisville, KY from his Brooklyn home in 2002 and set up shop at 610 Magnolia. Using local ingredients and putting his training in NYC kitchens to task at 610 Magnolia, Milkwood (a homey speakeasy), and The Wine Studio (his dining room and cooking class venue), Ed Lee gained national recognition on the ninth season of “Top Chef” filmed in Texas. Considered one of the nicest chefs around by his peers, we look forward to seeing just how nice this Bourbon-loving, culinary darling throws down on The Taste, where he appears as the teams’ first guest mentor tonight, January 9th at 8pm EST on ABC.

Click here for the recipe for Ed Lee’s Edamame and Boiled Peanuts and pick up his book “Smoke and Pickles”.

You’re invited to a one-of-a-kind salon on Wednesday, January  15th at 7pm for an intimate dinner and conversation with Marcus Samuelsson and artist Derrick Adams. The New York-based artist, who graduated from Columbia and Pratt Universities, will be our honored guest at Ginny’s Supper Club to discuss topics focusing on the conversation between art and food. If his art seems familiar, it’s because many of his pieces have been featured at Red Rooster and last week Derrick installed 6 new works in our private dining space. The installation will live with us for at least a year. Read More
