The Taste: Episode 1 Recap

It was so great to finally see the premiere of Season 2 of The Taste. I’m so excited to join my fellow mentors Ludo, Nigella and Anthony. All competition aside, I have to say  how grateful I am that the other mentors welcomed me with open arms! We had a blast taping together and I know that I have made three great friends.

The audition process was much more difficult than you would imagine. Half of the fun is that it is a blind tasting, so we don’t know who cooked for us, but it is also the most heartbreaking. We don’t know which chef-testant wants to be on which team, we don’t know their personal struggles, victories or background stories. It makes the judging honest and sometimes surprising; which you’ll see as the season progresses.

I couldn’t be more proud of my team. I have such an eclectic mix on my team and I am excited for you to get to know them and root for them like I did. They all cook honestly, passionately and thoughtfully.

Stay tuned next Thursday as the challenges begin and make sure to follow me on twitter @marcuscooks where I will be live tweeting each episode.
