Meet the Staff: Ijenela Ifill

By Christopher Stewart | March 26, 2013

Name? My name is Ijenela Ifill, I was born and raised in Guyana, South America. I have been living and working in New York City for over seven years.

Position at Red Rooster, Harlem? I am a barista at Red Rooster Harlem, making beautiful cappuccinos, lattes, and hot chocolates, both dark and white.

Favorite thing to eat at Rooster? I’m vegetarian mostly vegan, so my favorite thing to eat at Red Rooster are the mac-n-greens, the truffle fries and the market green salad.

What is your secret talent? My secret talent is sewing. I’m a clothing designer, designing both adult and children clothing, and I also design accessories; knitted hats, scarves, bags, and purses. Another thing I can also make is knitted earrings.

How do you plan to pursue that talent? I would love to open a boutique where I can sell my line of clothing and all of my accessories but I don’t have everything I need to do so just yet. For now I take orders for items from customers. I also take part in fashion shows, presenting my designs, and what I can do, the name of my clothing line, is Ijenela’s Cultural Clothing.
